The beauty of travelling is so frequently cast aside in the incredibly busy and fast paced world that is North America. It’s expensive, wholly life-consuming and taking time away from work and home can present an inundation of speed bumps, both personal and financial. As soon as you touch down in the elsewhere you’re headed, those problems dissipate and you’re faced with the reality of being somewhere entirely unknown: somewhere new to get lost, explore and experience.
I’m indescribably excited to have began this journey. Gran Canaria was one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen, I’ll go into that in more detail in another post – but I can’t believe how fortunate I’ve been in my journeys so far. Fuck yes to meeting great people, learning new things and trying all the new foods!
Footnote: As a white person travelling through Europe, Asia and potentially elsewhere I also feel it very important to acknowledge how privileged I am to be able to work enough to go anywhere.
